We are delighted to be joined by Laurent LeCamp, Managing Director of Montblanc to discuss this year’s new releases at Watches and Wonders. Laurent shares what’s new from Montblanc, his favourite pieces and gives us an insight into what we can expect from the brand in the upcoming year.

What can you tell us about the new launches?

The new Iced Sea model is a key launch for Montblanc. Its adjustability is a real asset, allowing the wearer to adjust the watch on the wrist without having to take it off or take out any links. Simply push the bracelet to ensure a perfect fit on the wrist.

What is your favourite piece and why?

The Reinhold Messner is one of my favourite pieces, dedicated to the famous climber who climbed the 14 highest peaks of Everest from 1970 to 1986, without the use of oxygen. The timepiece represents this as there is zero amounts of oxygen inside the timepiece, with any oxygen replaced by natural gas. A full titanium piece in 42mm, it has 100 metres water resistance and an exquisite case back.

How would you describe Montblanc in three words?

Storytelling, differentiation and innovation.

What is your holy grail timepiece?

We actually launched it this year – the Minerva timepiece. It’s the first time in the history of watchmaking with a chronograph function with no pushers. All the mechanisms are inside the bezel, with no need for the pushers.

What can we expect from Montblanc in the upcoming year?
